Join our experienced volunteer tour guide for the first ever one hour guided bus tour of the Olympic Peninsula's two National Historic Landmark Districts, Port Townsend and Fort Worden.
This guided tour will take you on a comfortable first class coach for a scenic tour of areas not covered by our popular uptown and downtown walking tours.
You'll see many areas of the city and hear commentary on the wonderful history of our town, some of the famous and infamous people who built it, and those
who created stunning homes to announce their success to the world. You'll hear the story of the construction of the famous Jefferson County Courthouse,
still the seat of county government 117 years after its construction. Hear about the City of Dreams and the construction of the Customs House, surveying
all of Admiralty Inlet and the entrance to Puget Sound from its perch on the bluff above the city, and how dreams of becoming the San Francisco of the
North were crushed by economic and social events.
You'll also visit Fort Worden and learn of the change of fortunes and functions that this Landmark District State Park has witnessed over it 100+ years.
Envision the parade ground with troops in formation, imagine the guns firing over the bluff, and learn the important role that Fort Worden plays in today's Western Washington economy
